IV International Satellite Navigation Forum sums up results.
The Forth International satellite navigation forum has finished its work. Annual event organized by Association “GLONASS/GNSS – Forum” and company “Professional Conferences” has passed on June 1-2, 2010 on the territory of leading exhibition center in Eastern Europe “Expocentre”. Forum supported by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Russian Federal Space Agency, Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation, Ministry for Regional Development of the Russian Federation, The Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elmination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs) and Russian Academy of Sciences. This year more than 1300 Russian and foreign delegates and more than 100 speakers took part in Forum.
For the first time in Forum’s history official delegations from the National Space Agency of Ukraine and National Space Agency of Republic Kazakhstan took part in event.
Greeting to the Participants of the 4th International Satellite Navigation Forum have directed Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation Sergei Ivanov and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov. This fact underlines the importance and steadfast attention from the state authorities of the Russian Federation to the development and use of GLONASS system.
During the plenary session the Head of Federal Space Agency Anatoly Perminov has stopped on questions concerning the national policy in the field of the use navigation technologies in the economy of Russian Federation. Further General Designer of the GLONASS System Yu.M. Urlichich has informed Forum’s participants on the state and development prospect of the GLONASS. Valeriy Babakov – Chief Designer of Consumer Navigation Equipment reported to the audience about prospects and problems of consumer navigation equipment based on GLONASS.
Jeffrey Auerbach representative US Department of State has told about state and prospects of the development of the GPS system and State policy of USA in the field of the development and use of the satellite navigation systems. To the audience was presented report concerning the experience of use satellite navigation technologies in Ukraine. Representatives of European Commission have informed on development prospect of the European GNSS Programs Galileo and EGNOSS. Sharafat Gadimova representative of International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (UNOOSA) told about international cooperation, ICG development and its activities.
Within two days seven sessions on the different topics in the field of navigation and panel discussion “Project "ERA GLONASS" (emergency service/ reaction at road accident) have been held by organizers.
The delegates of the 4th International Satellite Navigation Forum noted that holding of such event contributes not only to the process of GNSS development but to establishing business relations between its participants as well.

Galileo satellites intensify competition on the market of navigation
Two satellites of the European Galileo global navigation satellite system have successfully passed flight tests. Full satellite group will consist of 30 devices, and there are plans of its expansion after 2015. Apparently, the competition between the navigation systems of different countries is growing.
China Plans Dual Launches of Compass-BeiDou MEOs
News sources indicate that the first Beidou-2 dual launch will take place in April or possibly May. A Long March 3B rocket will carry two middle Earth orbiting (MEO) satellites (M3 and M4) into orbit.

This alliance will provide a roadmap for new, integrated solutions for land survey, mapping, construction, mining and other key machine control markets. Hemisphere GPS said. Carlson Software is a developer of field and office-based land development software.
