    Biography:

    Date and place of birth: 1947, Moscow
    Education:
    Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MIIGAiK)
    1972 –graduated from the University, Geodetic Astronomy specialty
    1976 –has defended thesis on scientific degree applicant Ph. D
    Career:
    1976 – taught in the Astronomy and space geodesy chair in “MIIGAik” as the assistant, then the Senior lecturer; 1986 – worked in the Ministry of Navy of the USSR, took part in the programs of developing, testing and application new equipment operating according middle orbit signals of satellite systems;
    1997 – 2007 – worked as Director Representative Office of International Corporation Ashtech, Magellan, Thales Navigation, Magellan Navigation (France);
    2001 – on present time Professor of Information-measuring systems chair, Deputy Department Chairman of Applied Geodesy in MIIGAiK;
    2011 – on present time Chief executive officer, association “GLONASS/GNSS-Forum”
    Projects:
    - took part in the tests programs of new generation GNSS-based equipment under conditions of Far North and the Black Sea;
    - took part in the research projects of NII KP and Inmarsat “Join monitoring of GPS/GLONASS interaction”, “Development of geostationary application GLONASS”, “Application of navigation system GLONASS for time and frequency determination” “GPS and GLONASS networks monitoring”;
    - took part in the program “Dnepr”;
    - jointly with Russian enterprises was involved in design and implementation of the newest satellite GLONASS/GPS technologies
    Science degrees, awards:
    Ph.D
    “Honorary geodesist”, “Honorary educator”, medals of The Cosmonautics Federation of Russia.

    Galileo satellites intensify competition on the market of navigation
    Two satellites of the European Galileo global navigation satellite system have successfully passed flight tests. Full satellite group will consist of 30 devices, and there are plans of its expansion after 2015. Apparently, the competition between the navigation systems of different countries is growing.
